Abstract
Kneading elements, extrusion apparatus, and methods of manufacturing honeycomb bodies are described herein. A kneading element () has an inner surface () defining an opening () configured to couple the kneading element () to a shaft (). The kneading element () also has a continuous closed curve elliptical outer surface (). The opening () has an axis () that is off-center with respect to a geometric center () of the kneading element () as viewed in a transverse plane perpendicular to the axis.
