Abstract
An explosion-proof housinghaving at least one pressure relief bodyarranged in a pressure compensation vent openingof one of the housing parts. In order to secure the pressure relief bodyto the housing part, a thickened regionof the housing partengages over an edge zoneof the pressure relief bodyalong its entire peripheral surfaceon both of its flat sides. A resulting engaging depth Si, which is measured parallel to the flat sides, is preferably greater than a thickness D, Dof the part of the thickened regionengaging over the edge zone. The pressure relief elementconsists of sintered wire mesh. This connection is pressure-resistant and stable over a wide temperature range.
