Abstract

An identification apparatusincludes a light collecting unitconfigured to collect scattered light from a sample, spectroscopic elementsandconfigured to disperse light from the light collecting unit, an imaging unitthat includes a plurality of light detection elements arrayed in a row directionand a column directionand to which optical spectra from the spectroscopic elementsandare projected along the row direction, and an acquisition unitconfigured to acquire spectral information about the sample based on an output signal from the imaging unit. The optical spectra corresponding to the sample are projected to the imaging unitdiscontinuously in at least one of the row directionand the column direction
