Abstract
An optical fiber (F) having a length defining a longitudinal direction is disclosed. The optical fiber (F) has at least two fiber cores (C, C) extending along the length of the optical fiber (F), and an optical coupling member (OCM) is arranged at a proximal optical fiber end of the optical fiber (F). The coupling member (OCM) has a first distal end face (OF) optically connected to the proximal optical fiber end, and a proximal second end face (IF) spaced apart from the first distal end face (OF) in the longitudinal direction of the optical fiber (F), the optical coupling member (OCM) being configured to couple light into each of the fiber cores (C, C, C).
