A numerical key unitmounted in a mounting portionof an image forming apparatusand card reader of inputting information to the image forming apparatusincludes a casingmounted on the mounting portion, an operating keycomprised of a hardware key capable of inputting information on a numerical value, a substrateprovided inside the casing, a main assembly-side cableconnected to a connectormounted on the substrateand electrically connecting the image forming apparatusand the numerical key unit, and a first openingthrough which the main assembly-side cableis inserted. The first openingis provided on a bottom of the casingso that in a thickness direction of the substrate, the main assembly-side cableis exposed to an outside of the casingfrom a surface on a side opposite from a surface where the operating keyis provided.
