Abstract
An information management method and system stores signatures (e.g., hashes or cryptographically unique IDs) corresponding to the individual data blocks of files or other data objects. The method and system may compare signatures for a file against a database of signatures for other stored files. If there are a threshold amount of matching signatures, the system can identify a relationship between the files, such as to identify potential security threats in the information management system.
