Abstract
The present application relates to method for computing the factor of safety of a slope including the following steps. Step 1: input parameters of a slope. Step 2: formulae a formula of stability number N into a target function and determine constrained conditions of geometric parameters α and λ. Step 3: obtain a minimum stability number N. Step 4: determine a position of a critical slip surface. Step 5: transform the critical slip surface defined by α, λ and n into a critical slip surface defined by R, xand y, and compute overturning moments of slid masses above and below external water level of the critical slip surface. Step 6: resolve an equivalent unit weight. Step 7: resolve the factor of safety FS.
