Abstract
An exhaust-gas turbocharger () with a bearing housing (), a shaft () mounted in the bearing housing (), a turbine wheel () which is arranged on the shaft (), a compressor wheel () which is arranged on the shaft (), and a wheel side space () between a rear wall () of the turbine wheel () or compressor wheel () and an outer surface (), which faces toward the rear wall () of the bearing housing (). In the outer surface () of the bearing housing (), there is formed at least one groove () for disrupting the flow generated by the rotating rear wall ().
