An expiratory valve () of a ventilation device (), including a valve body () having a fluid inlet () and a fluid outlet () for breathing air of a patient formed therein the valve body () defining a fluid flow path between fluid inlet () and fluid outlet (), with the cross-sectional area of the fluid flow path expanding in the direction towards the fluid outlet ().
