Abstract

An engine includes: an exhaust manifoldclose to one of left and right side surfaces of an engine; a turbochargerhaving an exhaust-side inlet connected to the exhaust manifold; and a rocker-arm-chamber-integrated intake manifoldbeing disposed on an upper surface of a cylinder headand integrally including a rocker arm chamberand an intake manifold. The intake manifoldhas a walldividing the rocker arm chamberclose to the one of the left and right side surfaces of the engineand the intake manifoldclose to the other of the left and right side surfaces to isolate the rocker arm chamberand the intake manifoldfrom each other. The rocker arm chamberhas, in its upper portion, a positive crankcase ventilation deviceprotruding therefrom and being configured to return blowby gas to an intake system. The positive crankcase ventilation devicehas, in its side surface, a blowby-gas discharge portconnected with a gas conduitthrough which blowby gas is delivered to an intake-side inlet of the turbocharger
