Abstract

The invention relates to a crimping pliers network () which comprises pressing pliers (), an electronic control unit () (in particular a smartphone or a tablet) as well as a data storage device () (in particular a cloud storage ()). According to the invention, a die () of the pressing pliers () comprises an identifier () which can be captured by a capturing device () of the pressing pliers. Data () from the data storage device () and being specific for the captured identifier () is provided to the control unit (). The data might be a desired pressing force curve (), a desired pressing displacement curve () and/or information concerning a workpiece for which the dies () are designated. In this way, it is possible to increase the process safety when using the crimping pliers (). Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for pressing a workpiece.
