Abstract

An automated teller machine comprises an output compartment for the output of notes of value and a closing element () which, in a closed state, closes the output compartment. An output area () is delimited by a first delimiting element () and at least a second delimiting element () and, in the closed state, by the closing element (). An arrangement () for monitoring the output area () comprises at least a sensor unit () which is arranged and configured such that it detects an element (E, E, E) arranged in the output area.
