Abstract

A containerfor mixing and dispensing of material having a liquid receptacleand a plunger. The receptaclehas a front portionand the plungerhas a forwardly projecting sharp protrusionhaving a shaftwhich terminates in a sharp outer end. Upon the plungerbeing depressed the sharp protrusionpierces a front portionof the liquid receptacleand the liquid in the receptacleis pushed hydraulically through the front portioninto the main chamber. Thus the liquid contacts material in the main chamberto form a mixture. The plungercan continue to be depressed so as to break the front portionof the liquid receptacleaway and then push the material in the main chambertowards a dispensing nozzle. The main chamberhas a frangible membraneat a distal endthereof which is hydraulically broken by pressure applied from the material in the main chamberso that the material can be dispensed from the container. The containeris particularly envisaged for use with mixing and dispensing of dental materials.
