Abstract
The invention relates to a synchronous converter () comprising a transformer (A,B) having a predefined winding ratio, which couples a supply-side () and a load side () of the synchronous converter (), which are each allocated limit current intensities (″); detection means (), which are configured to detect a current intensity () on one side () from the supply side () and the load side (); conversion means (), which are configured to provide the limit current intensities (″) from the other side () from the supply-side () and the load side (), converted via the predefined winding ratio, as corresponding limit current intensities (**) on the one side (); and comparison means (), which are configured to compare the detected current intensity () with the limit current intensities (″) of the one side () and with the corresponding limit current intensities (**) on the one side ().
