The invention concerns a food preparation devicecomprising a food preparation pot, a heating elementfor heating foodin the food preparation pot, a toolfor blending and/or comminuting foodin the food preparation pot, a lidfor the food preparation pot, and an electric motorfor rotating the tool. A monitoring unit monitors a power input of the electric motorfor detecting an overpressure in the food preparation pot. The invention also concerns a method and a computer program product. A very reliable detection of overpressure can thereby be enabled.
