Abstract
A spool operation failure due to foreign matter contamination is prevented. A variable displacement compressorincludes a first control valvecontrolling the opening degree of a supply passage, a check valve, a second control valvecontrolling the opening degree of a discharge passage, and a back-pressure relief passage. The second control valveincludes a back pressure chambercommunicating with an intermediate supply passage, a valve chamberto which a valve holeand a discharge holeare open and that constitutes a part of the discharge passage, a partition memberpartitioning into the back pressure chamberand the valve chamber, and a spoolextending through a through holeformed in the partition member. The spoolhas a pressure receiving portiondisposed in the back pressure chamber, a valve portiondisposed in the valve chamber, and a shaft portion. The spoolis supported in a manner slidable in the opening and closing directions on the partition memberby arranging the spool valve, constituted by the valve portionand the shaft portion, to be in contact with the partition member
