Abstract

A piston-cylinder assembly () has a cylindrical housing (), with a main piston () and at least one trailing piston (). The trailing piston () is axially guided on a cylindrical outer lateral face () of the main piston (). The trailing piston () has a thrust portion () at one end near a piston web on the main piston, The thrust portion extends axially inward toward the piston web () A travel limiter () on the cylindrical housing limits a travel range of the trailing piston () Under pressure, the trailing piston () follows the main piston () until the trailing piston () hits the travel limiter (). The thrust portion () of the trailing piston () is shaped to fit into an associated recess () in the piston web with a positive lock.
