A control system () for an electro-hydraulic servo-actuator () envisages: a controller (), to generate a control current (I), designed to control actuation of the electro-hydraulic servo-actuator (), implementing a position control loop based on a position error (e), the position error (e) being a difference between a reference position (Pos) and a measured position (Pos) of the electro-hydraulic servo-actuator (); and a limitation stage (), coupled to the controller () to provide a limitation of the actuator speed of the electro-hydraulic servo-actuator (); the limitation stage () limits a rate of change of a driving current (I) to be supplied to the electro-hydraulic servo-actuator (), in order to limit the actuator speed.
