Abstract

Tire tread with main lugs extending from a tread edge to the equatorial mid-plane on each side of which are a plurality of secondary lugs () extending over 40% to 60% of the tread half-width, each secondary lug () having a width 20% to 40% of the shortest distance between two main lugs (). Each main lug () comprises, on its trailing lateral face (), a widened portion () of width Dextending over an axial distance from a tread edge and being joined to the main lug by end face () inclined at an angle Bbetween 18 degrees and 25 degrees to the circumferential direction. Each secondary lug () has end face () inclined at an angle Swith the same orientation as angle Bwith respect to the circumferential direction, angle Sbeing between 18 degrees and 25 degrees.
