Abstract
A system and method for mitigating at least one aggressor cell. The method comprises categorizing at least one user equipment connected to the at least one aggressor cell [A,B,C,D] based on a position of the at least one user equipment within a coverage area of the at least one aggressor cell [A,B,C,D]. The at least one user equipment positioned at the center of the coverage area of the at least one aggressor cell [A,B,C,D] is scheduled for downlink transmission in at least one special subframe. The at least one aggressor cell [A,B,C,D] reduces transmission power of the at least one special subframe by a pre-determined value and transmits the at least one special subframe to a first set of base stations [E,F].
