Abstract

A wireless charging device for a vehicle includes a mounting unit, a power transmitter, a position detector, and a controller. The mounting unit is to be mounted with a mobile device. The power transmitter wirelessly transmits electric power to a power receiver of the mobile device. The position detector detects a position of the power receiver of the mobile device mounted on the mounting unit. The controller switches between charging modes including a normal mode of allowing charging if the power receiver is positioned in a standard region of the mounting unit, and enlargement modes of allowing the charging also if the power receiver is positioned in an enlarged region outside the standard region. The enlargement modes include a standard current mode in which a standard current is outputted to the power transmitter, and an increased current mode in which a current larger than the standard current is outputted.
