Abstract

There is provided a polyhalogenated zinc phthalocyanine having good tinting strength and being capable of achieving higher brightness when the polyhalogenated zinc phthalocyanine is used in pixel portions of color filters. The object is achieved by providing the polyhalogenated zinc phthalocyanine represented by general formula 1: (wherein in general formula 1, Xto Xare each independently a chlorine atom, a bromine atom, or a hydrogen atom), in which a value obtained by dividing the maximum ion intensity, measured by mass spectrometry, in an m/z range of 1,780 (inclusive) to 1,820 (exclusive) by the maximum ion intensity in the m/z range of 1,820 (inclusive) to 1,860 (inclusive) is 1.00 or less.
