A particle radiation therapy apparatusincludes: a bedfor positioning of a patient; irradiation ports() that output a particle beam in a treatment room; a horizontal-direction imaging unitcomposed of a first X-ray sourceand a first X-ray detectorthat face each other with the bedinterposed therebetween; a vertical-direction imaging unitcomposed of a second X-ray sourceand a second X-ray detectorthat face each other with the bedinterposed therebetween; a storage roomfor housing the first X-ray detectorunder the floor when the horizontal-direction imaging unitis not used; and a support memberthat moves the first X-ray detectorabove the floor and supports it between the bedand the side of the irradiation portswhen the horizontal-direction imaging unitis used.
