Abstract

A belt-driven escalator () includes a plurality of escalator steps () arranged to travel along an inclined conveyance path (), a drive belt () connected to the plurality of escalator steps (), a drive system () arranged to drive the drive belt () so as to propel the plurality of escalator steps () along the inclined conveyance path (); and a belt support structure (). The belt support structure () includes a plurality of support wheels () and a support belt () extending over the plurality of support wheels (). The support belt () is arranged to provide support to the plurality of escalator steps () via the drive belt ().
