Abstract
A topical composition includes a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) in an aqueous carrier system which contains a cationic galactomannan gum. The carrier system includes, in addition to water and the cationic galactomannan gum, a lactate ester of a Cto Csaturated aliphatic alcohol, a monoprotic arylalkanoic acid (pKa 3.8 to 5), a solubility enhancer, and a Cto Csaturated aliphatic alcohol.
