Abstract

A method of calibrating a registration of an augmented reality devicecomprised in a surgical navigation systemis provided. The method comprises obtaining a first transformationbetween a coordinate systemof the augmented reality deviceand a reference coordinate systemof the surgical navigation system, a second transformationbetween a coordinate system of a reference objectand the reference coordinate systemand obtaining geometrical properties of the reference object. The method further comprises determining a visual representationof the reference objectto be displayed by the augmented reality deviceand obtaining at least one first viewing directionof a user using the augmented reality device, the at least one first viewing directionbeing associated with the reference coordinate system. The method comprises determining a calibrated first transformation, which is a transformation between the coordinate systemof the augmented reality deviceand the reference coordinate system
