Abstract

A spool device () for storing at least a portion of a telecommunications cable () in a storage configuration () includes a base (), a spool member (), and a loop engaging member (). The base () includes a plurality of cable holders () configured for receiving a first portion () and a second portion () of the cable (). The spool member () is mounted to the base () and includes a wrapping area () that is configured for storing a coiled portion () of the cable (). The loop engaging member () is configured for engaging a looped portion () of the cable () and thereby secures at least the coiled portion () and the looped portion () of the cable (). The spool device () may be used as an adjustable overlength device for looped cable. The spool device () may store and dispense the cable () while ends () of the cable () remain connected to stationary first and second devices (), respectively.
