Abstract

Certain embodiments are directed to an immunogenic composition comprising an immunogenic glycoconjugate comprising a glycan having the chemical formula of galactopyranose (Galp)-α(1,2)-R, Galp-α(1,3)-R, Galp-α(1,4)-R, or Galp-α(1,6)-R, wherein in R is any monosaccharide, oligosaccharide, or polysaccharide, coupled to a carrier peptide or protein. Certain aspects described herein are directed to compounds and therapies for treatinginfections. In certain aspects, the glycoconjugates as described herein, are incorporated into pharmaceutical compositions or vaccines
