Abstract
A catheter system () for removal of occlusive material in a body lumen. The catheter system () includes a catheter body (), extending between a distal end () and a proximal end () and having a proximal portion () and a distal portion (). The catheter body () includes a filtration section (A) having filter media () configured to permit blood to pass through the lumen of the catheter body () and inhibiting occlusive material from passing out of the catheter body (). The catheter system () also includes a control handle () coupled to the proximal portion () of the catheter body () and a cutter assembly () having a drive mechanism () operatively coupled to the control handle (). The cutter assembly () includes a drive mechanism () and a conveyor () coupled to the drive mechanism () and rotatable with the drive mechanism () to convey occlusive material proximally within the catheter body () and through the filtration section (A).
