Abstract

A view system (A,B) for a vehicle () has at least one image capture unit (A,B) for capturing image data of an area around the vehicle (), wherein the image capture unit (A,B) has an image sensor (A,B) and an optical element (A,B), at least one image processing unit (A,B) for processing the image data captured by the image capture unit, and at least one light source () for illuminating the optical element (A,B). The view system is configured to highlight the recognizability of a foreign particle (S, T), which is located on the optical element (A,B), on the image sensor (A,B) of the image capture unit (A,B) by means of the illumination of the optical element (A,B).
