Abstract

Fiber optic connectors (), cable assemblies () and methods for making the same are disclosed. In one embodiment, the fiber optic connector () comprises a ferrule assembly (), a housing () and a cap (). The housing () comprises a longitudinal passageway () between a rear end () and a front end (), and a ferrule assembly side-loading pocket () for receiving the ferrule assembly (). The ferrule assembly () and housing () cooperate to inhibit movement of the assembly during manufacturing. Fiber optic connectormay include other features as desired such as keying portion (KP) or at least one locking feature (L) integrally formed in the housing ().
