Abstract
A compensation apparatus compensates for leakage currents on conductors that include active conductors. The apparats () has a differential current measuring apparatus (), a power supply unit (), a first signal generator (), an output stage () and a supply apparatus (). The differential current measuring apparatus () captures a first signal at a first location of the active conductors and supplies it to the first signal generator (). The first signal characterizes differential current on the active conductors. The first signal generator () generates a second signal to compensate for the differential current from the first signal and supplies this second signal to the output stage (). The output stage () injects a compensation current into at least one of the active conductors via the supply apparatus () on the basis of the second signal.
