Abstract

A fan assembly includes a shrouded fan rotor () having a plurality of fan blades () extending from a rotor hub () and rotatable about a central axis () of the fan assembly and a fan shroud () extending circumferentially around the fan rotor () and secured to an outer tip diameter of the plurality of fan blades (). A stator assembly () is located downstream of the fan rotor (), relative to an airflow () direction through the fan assembly. The stator assembly () includes a plurality of stator vanes () extending between a stator hub () and a stator shroud (). A flow control ring () is positioned between the fan rotor () and the stator assembly () to block radial flow migration in an axial spacing between the fan rotor and the stator assembly resulting from a radial flow component of an airflow () exiting the fan rotor ().
