Abstract
Systems and methods are disclosed for detecting vehicular accidents based on sensor data, such as data from a mobile device in a vehicle or data from the vehicle's sensors. If an accident is detected, the system may determine whether to collect sensor data from additional sources, such as additional vehicle sensors or additional mobile devices (e.g., a pedestrian's mobile device or a mobile device within a vehicle). The system may also determine whether to collect data from traffic devices or from contextual data sources. The data may be used by the system to determine which party is at fault in the accident. The data may also be used to generate a visualization of the accident.
