Abstract

The invention relates to an inflator () comprising an ignition unit () having an igniter (), a chamber () arranged axially downstream of the ignition unit () and a diffuser chamber () arranged axially downstream of the chamber () which is comprised by a diffuser (), wherein a combustion chamber screen () having an igniter-side end () and a diffuser-side end () is disposed in the chamber (), the combustion chamber screen () being tapered, especially conically, in the longitudinal direction (L) of the inflator () from the igniter () toward the diffuser ().
