Abstract

A female terminal includes a tubular body () with a bottom wall (), first and second side walls () and a ceiling (). The first side wall () has a supporting hole (A) and the second side wall () has an engaging hole (A). An engaging projection (A) projects from the ceiling () and into the engaging hole (A). A leaf spring () is cantilevered in the tubular body () and includes a base (), a flexible portion () extending rearward from the base (), a coupling () coupling the base () to the second side wall (), and a support () projecting from a side of the base () opposite the coupling () and into the supporting hole (A). The free end () of the flexible portion () can contact the ceiling while avoiding the engaging projection (A) when the flexible portion () is deformed toward the ceiling.
