Abstract
An organic EL device () includes: a first substrate (); a second substrate (); one or more organic EL elements; and a sealing layer (). One surface of the first substrate () is a mounting surface on which the one or more organic EL elements are disposed. The first substrate () and the second substrate () are laminated in such a manner that the mounting surface of the first substrate () and one surface of the second substrate () face each other with the sealing layer () interposed therebetween. The second substrate () has at least one recessed part () and at least one protruding part () in a region inside the sealing layer () on the surface of the second substrate () facing the first substrate (), and the moisture absorbent () is disposed in the recessed part ().
