Abstract
A coaxial cable () includes an outer barrier () that seals the coaxial cable from air and protects the cable's conductors () form oxidation in a fire. Such an outer protective barrier may include a fire retardant tape. A dielectric () separates the conductors and may comprise a ceramic () embedded in a dielectric material (), or ceramic beads in a braided ceramic mesh.
