Abstract

The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating inflammatory disease, which contains, as an active ingredient, aGF423 strain, a superoxide dismutase high-producingGF424 mutant strain, a superoxide dismutase (SOD) derived from one of these strains, or both the strain and the SOD. The superoxide dismutase derived from theGF423 strain (KCTC 13222BP), which is the active ingredient of the present invention, effectively suppresses or degrades reactive oxygen species, and thus has the effect of fundamentally preventing the causes of inflammatory bowel disease caused by reactive oxygen species. Therefore, the composition of the present invention may be developed into various products, including excellent drugs and health functional foods for preventing or treating inflammatory bowel disease.
