Abstract
According to one embodiment, a rotor of an electric rotating machine includes a shaft, a rotor core, and a plurality of permanent magnets. Two first permanent magnets are arranged in line symmetry with a pole center and are arranged gradually away from the pole center as the two first permanent magnets extend from first ends toward second ends thereof. Two second permanent magnets are arranged in line symmetry with the pole center and are arranged gradually away from the pole center as the two second permanent magnets extend from third ends toward fourth ends thereof. Angles θare set to satisfy the relationships of θ, and 70 degrees≤θ≤110 degrees.
