A power reception deviceof a noncontact power supply apparatushas a resonance circuitthat resonates at a first frequency, a voltage detection circuitthat measures an output voltage from the resonance circuitand calculates a measured value of the output voltage, and a transmitterthat transmits a signal including information about the measured value of the output voltage to a power transmission device. The power transmission deviceof the noncontact power supply apparatushas a transmission coilfor supplying power to the power reception device, a power supply circuitthat supplies AC power having an adjustable switching frequency to the transmission coil, a receiverthat receives the signal including the information about the measured value of the output voltage, and a control circuitthat controls, in accordance with the measured value of the output voltage, the switching frequency so that the transmission coiland the power supply circuitcan continue a soft switching operation.
