Abstract

An object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing resin pellets, in which occurrence of defective pellets is suppressed. The method for producing resin pellets of the present invention includes the following steps, and a strand-shaped resin has a diameter of 1.5 to 4.5 mm, is discharged at a take-off speed of 1.5 m/s to 10 m/s, a die has 10 or more die holes, and a strand interval X defined by Formula 2 satisfies the following Formula 1; step 1: discharging a molten thermoplastic resin through a die in the form of a strand; step 2: cooling the discharged strand-shaped resin using a refrigerant; and step 3: cutting the cooled strand-shaped resin to obtain resin pellets;1.73×≤2.81×  Formula 1
