Abstract
Provided is a variable displacement compressor capable of preventing intrusion of foreign matter into a second control valve. A variable displacement compressoris equipped with a first control valvecontrolling the opening degree of a supply passage, a check valve, a second control valvecontrolling the opening degree of a discharge passage, and a back-pressure relief passage. The second control valvehas a back-pressure chambercommunicating with an intermediate supply passage, a valve chamberin which a valve holeand a discharge holeare open and which constitutes a part of the discharge passage, a dividing memberdividing the back-pressure chamberand the valve chamberfrom each other, and a spool. In a state in which the first control valvecloses the supply passageand in which a valve seat side end surfaceof a valve portionof the spoolis spaced away from a valve seatto a maximum degree, an end wall side end surfaceof the valve portionabuts an end wallof the dividing member, whereby communication between the valve chamberand the back-pressure chambervia a through-holeof the end wallis cut off.
