Abstract

A dispensing pump () includes a removable chaplet () to facilitate removal of the internal metal spring components () for recycling. The dispensing pump () includes an accumulator () having an upper rim wall (). The chaplet () is coaxially snap received about the rim wall () of the accumulator (). The chaplet () has a body portion () received within the rim wall (), and an outer wall () received outside of the rim wall (). The outer wall () has a frangible wall portion () and a pull tab () at a terminal edge thereof. A dispensing head () with a piston stem () and spring () are coaxially guided within the chaplet () and accumulator (). When the container is empty, the user pulls on the pull tab () to sever the frangible elements, releasing the chaplet () and allowing easy removal of the dispensing head () and the metallic spring component ().
