Abstract

The invention relates to an energy storage unit () comprising a plurality of energy storage sub-units () that have a first electrode () and a second electrode (), the first electrode () and second electrode () of a particular energy storage sub-unit () being arranged on opposite sides of said energy storage sub-unit (), and said energy storage unit comprising a receiving device () that has a plurality of adjacently-arranged receiving units each spatially delimited by a lateral wall, one energy storage sub-unit () being introduced into each receiving unit of said receiving device (), and the energy storage sub-units () being secured in said receiving units such that the electrodes () are arranged in a first contact level and in a second contact level, the electrodes () arranged in the first contact level being electrically interconnected by means of a first printed circuit board () and the electrodes () arranged in the second contact level () being electrically interconnected by means of a second printed circuit board (). The invention also relates to an energy storage system which comprises a plurality of electrically-interconnected energy storage units () according to the invention.
