Abstract
The object of the invention is a latching device () for a motor vehicle having a locking mechanism () with a catch () and at least one pawl (), a triggering lever () whereby the locking mechanism () can be unlocked by means of the triggering lever (), a means to block () a movement of the triggering lever () arranged on the latching device (), whereby a blocking of the triggering lever () can be attained by a stress (F) acting externally on the vehicle and a shifting movement of the blocking means (), and whereby the blocking means can be guided back into a starting position dependent on the amount of external stress.
