Abstract
(Problem) To provide an optical ferrule that can easily accommodate multicore optical fibers, without an accompanying increase in the number of components. (Resolution Means) The optical ferruleincludes a guide openingformed by an upper wall, a bottom wall, and a pair of side wallsand; a guide partthat extends forward from the upper walland the guide opening; and an optical couplerprovided on the upper surface of the upper wall. The optical couplerhas a waveguide aligning partthat aligns and holds an optical waveguide, and a light direction converterthat changes the direction of light from the optical waveguideand emits the light toward an opposing optical ferrule
