A vapor compression system comprises a compressor (). The compressor comprises an inlet () and an outlet () and an electric motor (). The motor has a stator () and a rotor (). A plurality of bearings () support the rotor. A fluid flowpath () extends to the plurality of bearings. A branch () from the fluid flowpath extends to the compressor. A liquid sensor () is along the branch.
