Abstract
A controller for a motor vehicle () has an internal combustion engine (), a transmission (), and a cooling device () with a coolant () for cooling the internal combustion engine (), wherein the controller () is configured to determine a target minimum rotational speed for the internal combustion engine () on the basis of the temperature of the internal combustion engine () and/or the temperature of the coolant () and to determine a target gear setting on the basis of the target minimum rotational speed.
