Abstract

A method for controlling a warning module based on an expected time period up to a collision of a vehicle with an obstacle, including: permitting an outputting of a generated warning to a driver of the vehicle if the expected time period up to the collision is shorter than a limiting value function, which depends on a speed of the obstacle and/or a relative speed of the vehicle with respect to the obstacle, and otherwise suppressing a warning to the driver; in which the warning module is configured to generate the warning of an imminent triggering of an automatic emergency braking process of the vehicle to avoid the collision. Also described is a related device and computer readable medium.
